How to Prepare for Your Ultrasound Appointment

Preparing for your ultrasound at Pennsauken Diagnostic Center can help ease nerves and set expectations. From the moment you arrive, our compassionate, experienced staff is focused on making you feel comfortable, informed, and cared for.

What to Wear:

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Depending on the exam, you may be asked to change into a gown to ensure accurate imaging.

What to Expect:

Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive exam that uses sound waves—there is no radiation involved. A warm gel is applied to the skin, and a handheld device gently moves over the area being examined. Most exams take about 30 minutes, and you can return to your normal routine right after.

Before Your Visit:

You may be asked to remove jewelry or accessories, and our team will provide any special instructions in advance if needed.

Throughout your appointment, our caring technologists take time to explain each step, answer questions, and ensure you feel at ease. At Pennsauken Diagnostic Center, you’re never just an appointment—you’re a person, and your comfort always comes first.
