When diagnosing many illnesses and injuries, healthcare practitioners often begin with x-rays, a non-invasive diagnostic tool. X-rays have come a long way from their inception in the 1900s. At Pennsauken Diagnostic Center, we offer digital x-rays (digital radiography), which are a safer option to produce accurate, diagnostic images than film x-rays. This means 80% less radiation, as well as being more efficient, cost effective and available almost immediately. Often, there is no discomfort and no preparation.
Digital x-rays at Pennsauken Diagnostic Center are performed with compassion and precision:
As with many diagnostic tests, items containing metal will have to be removed, such as jewelry, eyeglasses, hair clips, and clothing with metal fasteners.
The technician will instruct the patient to stand, sit down, or lie down on an exam table. It may be necessary for the patient to hold his/her breath or position to ensure optimal imaging.
A digital x-ray only takes a few minutes . Patients should be done within thirty minutes. No side or after-effects. You can go home and resume your normal activities.
Whether digital x-rays are needed for your physician to make a diagnosis, create a treatment program or for treatment progress, or for your attorney when seeking compensation, optimal quality images are vital, and they can be enhanced and resized without compromise. In addition, images are stored on a computer, not film - easily shared with other healthcare practitioners, making collaboration fast and convenient.
At Pennsauken Diagnostic Center, we can answer any of your questions and concerns. Discover the PDC difference when it’s time for digital x-rays.
