When your healthcare provider refers you for diagnostic imaging, knowing what to expect can make the process feel easier. At Pennsauken Diagnostic Center, our goal is to provide a comfortable, convenient experience while delivering accurate diagnostic imaging and compassionate care.

Scheduling Your Appointment

Once you have been referred for imaging, the next step is scheduling your appointment. Pennsauken Diagnostic Center offers Open MRI, Digital X-Rays, and Ultrasound services. Same-day appointments are available, and extended hours help make scheduling more convenient.

Before your visit, you can access important forms and preparation information through our Patient Center. Our team is also available to answer questions about your appointment, insurance coverage, or out-of-pocket expenses.

What to Expect During Your Exam

Your experience will depend on the type of imaging your healthcare provider has ordered.

Open MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images without X-rays. PDC’s Open MRI is designed to provide a more comfortable experience, particularly for patients who may feel anxious or claustrophobic.

Ultrasound is a non-invasive exam that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of tissues and organs. Ultrasound does not use X-ray radiation.

Digital X-Rays provide diagnostic images electronically and are often used when evaluating illnesses and injuries. Images are available almost immediately.

Throughout your visit, the PDC team is focused on helping you feel comfortable, informed, and cared for.

From Imaging to Results

After your imaging exam, your images are reviewed and interpreted by experienced, board-certified radiologists. Reports are generally provided to referring physicians, healthcare providers, and/or attorneys within 24 to 48 hours, helping your provider determine the appropriate next steps in your care.
